In Episode 5, I talked about how I may have found a new investment for the first time in almost 3 years.

In Episode 6, we talked about Anchoring Bias, its immense power, and how this relates to value investing.

In Episode 7, I’m doing a mini book review of Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story – Arnold Schwarzenegger’s autobiography.

Today in the 21-minute video below, we’re talking about the powerful mental model of investing in loss… or as I like to say – when in doubt, kiss the girl.

Let’s get to it…

As I explained in the video above, this investment in loss is how I’m able to learn things so fast. And why you should learn how to learn faster and more efficiently as well.

But this isn’t just about learning faster… It’s also about learning a valuable lifelong skill.

But to do this, you have to be willing to fail fast to learn and improve fast.

And you also have to be willing to kiss the girl – go for it, put yourself out there, and take a risk – to do anything well in life.

Learning any skill is no different.

For those that don’t watch the video here is some of what you’ll learn…

  • How you can learn faster
  • How you can learn more efficiently
  • Why you should want to get better at both of these things
  • Specific examples from my life on when learning faster literally got me hired to do consulting work
  • And how this work led me to learn other valuable skills that I now run businesses in
  • Why this mental model of investing in loss and failure is so powerful
  • And much more…

I’d love to hear your thoughts on Investing In Loss and When In Doubt, Kiss The Girl in the comments below.

Before you go, here is another great article about Josh Waitzkin and investing in loss.

P.S. It’s sad I even have to write this, but for any of the PC crowd out there, I don’t mean to sexually harass others by my quote of “when in doubt, kiss the girl”. I mean to put yourself out there when the opportunity arises and if you get shot down, so be it. At least then, you may learn something or at the very least not live with regret.
